Head Coach
I ride my bike to find the peace that escapes me.
I have been riding mountain bikes since the mid 90's and I still love it. I love the challenge and freedom I feel when I am on my bike. I love to see the progression and confidence gains as riders tackle new challenges on their bikes.
I have been the head Coach for the Ridgeline MTB Team since 2025 and am currently the Manager and Head Mechanic at the Pronghorn Bicycles Logan location. If you ever want to talk about bikes let me know.
Assistant Coach
Steve has been on two wheels for as long as he can remember, but he discovered real mountain biking thanks to the Ridgeline Mountain Bike Team and his children's growing interest in the sport.
When Steve transitioned to lower-impact cardio, his son invited him to help coach—and he quickly found himself hooked on the trails, the team culture, and the chance to learn alongside the riders.
Before joining the MTB community, Steve served 5.5 years in the U.S. Army as a Parachute Rigger. After completing his service, he returned to Logan to attend Utah State University, where he earned a degree in Biological Engineering, and to be closer to both his and his wife’s family.
He has since spent about six years working at Cytiva, contributing to the region’s biotech and manufacturing community.
With two boys on the team and his wife serving as both treasurer and a board member, Ridgeline has become a full family commitment. Steve also contributed five ribs to the cause last season, which he’s officially labeling his “Lifetime Crash Quota,” and he’s aiming to stay vertical this year.
As a coach, Steve believes real progress comes from showing up, working hard, and being willing to step outside your comfort zone. He works to build a team culture where riders feel empowered to challenge themselves and discover their strengths.
GRiT Head Coach
Mountain biking is a lifelong sport, and that’s one of the things I love most about it. I was introduced to the Ridgeline Mountain Biking Team through my husband and son, who developed a passion for the sport.
What started as their interest soon became a family adventure. When my oldest daughter joined the team, I became more involved, especially to help encourage and support more girls in mountain biking.
Last season, our family had three racers, and it was an incredible experience. The positive atmosphere, strong sense of community, and lasting friendships we’ve built through the team mean so much to us. The mountain biking community truly offers a place for everyone, no matter what their age or ability.
GRiT Assistant Coach
Hi! My name is Beckylynn Spotten, and I serve on the board and as the team treasurer. While I’m not a mountain biker, you will often find me hiking the trails with my dog, Ranger during summer practices.
My husband is the assistant coach, and we have two boys on the team, ages 14 and 16 — so mountain biking has basically become our family hobby whether I ride or not!
I’m an elementary school teacher alongside supporting the mountain bike team. Outside of work, I love spending time outdoors—especially hiking and camping—as well as reading a good book, enjoying a great cup of coffee, and making memories with my family.
The board provides leadership, guidance, and support for the team and its mission.
President / Team Manager
I have always enjoyed being outside. I grew up playing tennis and golf, going to Bear Lake and spending time in the sun. I am a native to the valley and love living here.
A few of my favorite things are gummy candy, Dr. Pepper soda, reading, watching movies with my family, getting takeout so I do not have to cook and sitting on my back porch watching the hummingbirds.
I started mountain biking two years ago when my son joined the team. It was not the best start for me. Ask me about it sometime! I have continued to bike and hopefully I’m improving my skill. I love the fact that I can bike with my family and have loved all the friends that I have made along the way.
Treasurer

Secretary
I started coaching on the team in 2022 when my oldest signed up for the team. I love riding bikes and have done so since I was a kid but didn’t really start trail riding till I was in my 20’s.
I love that it gets me outdoors, provides some exercise and a natural high.
